Welcome to Lady T Homestyle Southern Cuisine

I don’t want anyone feeling sorry for me. I’m not sad — in fact, I feel free. But let me be real with you: when you’re a small business owner, the odds are stacked against you in every possible way. And yet, I kept pushing, because cooking isn’t just what I do — it’s who I am.

I started in my own kitchen, selling platters one by one, saving every dollar until I had enough to chase the dream. I outgrew my house, so I took a leap of faith. With our life savings, we built a restaurant from scratch inside a shopping center. It took a year to build, and the first year alone cost us $30,000 in rent.

The challenges came fast and hard:

- Permits delayed us.

- People tried to swindle us.

- My lease was written to protect the landlord, not me.

And through it all, I fell ill — hospitalized for dehydration after working myself to the bone, literally fighting for my business while fighting for my life. But 2025 became a turning point. In February, I had a double lumpectomy, removing six lumps from my breast. Believe it or not, I went to work that same evening — but only lasted 20 minutes before my body gave out.

Just five months later, I was back on the operating table for a full hysterectomy due to severe anemia, fibroids, and endometriosis. That was essentially the end of Johnson Highway. We simply could not sustain it after being closed for so many days. By then, I was about ready to let go. This right here, is not even a snippet of what's been going on!!

And yet, here I am — still standing, I am feeling better than ever, still dreaming, still cooking. Because Lady Ts isn’t just about food. It’s about resilience, community, and love served on every plate. Now, I’m ready to start over. I’m not afraid of the challenge. This time, I want to own my space, to build something lasting, something that can’t be taken away by a lease or stacked odds. My goal is to raise $75,000 to make that dream real. So back to my kitchen I go selling platters one by one. This isn’t just about me. It’s about every person who’s ever believed in Lady T’s, every customer who’s tasted the love in my food, every supporter who knows that small businesses are the heartbeat of our communities, and every individual that I helped lose weight, control their eating habits, lowered their blood pressure, helped control their blood sugar and gave them a sense of understanding about the benefits of holistic health and all natural alternatives. I'm going to turn struggle into strength, and this setbacks into a comeback. Together, we can make Lady T’s not just a restaurant, but a legacy.

Thank you for your continued support — and for believing in Lady T’s.
